Singapore Khalsa Association VS Singapore Cricket Club
Date: 19th May 2018
Venue: Jalan Besar Stadium
It was an extremely wet and humid day as Singapore Khalsa Association played their 3rd match of the season against Singapore Cricket Club.
It was a match of two halves for Khalsa. Some key players were absent from the starting eleven due to work and injury but the coaching team fielded players who were equally good and capable. Khalsa started the match like they always do, with high tempo pressuring and swift passing .The game was very one sided till Khalsa lost a abit of focus and concentration when one of SCC`s player got injured. Everyone came to the byline for a quick drink as it was the month of Ramadan and players wanted to hydrate themselves as much as possible. And when SCC restarted the match SKA players were caught out of position to concede their first goal of the match at 13 mins.
In the 21st min SCC got themselves a corner. When the corner was taken SKA keeper came out to collect the in-swinging ball but it slipped off his hand due to the wet weather and fell straight onto the feet of a SCC player who coolly slotted the ball in to make the score two zero in favor of Singapore Cricket Club.
The scoreline stayed the same way till halftime.
When the match restarted after the break, SKA went in with more focus, they were hungrier and all guns blazing. But all they could do was hit the woodwork a couple of times and have the keeper saving everything which was thrown at him. The SCC keeper and players were determined to put in the extra effort and not allow any goals go past them. They practically camped at their own half not allowing SKA any space to maneuver in and get any points from this game.
Final whistle was blown. Match ended Singapore Khalsa Association 0 - 2 Singapore Cricket Club.
